Jonnie graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a B.A in International Relations and Global Studies and a minor in Latin American Studies. Her current research examines the online language regarding experiences of awe among psychedelic users. Her previous research includes being a co-author for a publication investigating the language in food talk and recipe sharing. Jonnie is currently pursuing her Masters in Columbia University at Teachers College in the Department of Psychology.
